My Stint in Cairns

It was an exciting 10 months at The Cairns Post. I was lucky to work under a great friend and superb editor, who had worked with me at The Gulf News in Dubai, UAE. It was memorable experience working with a great crew who were more like a family. Covering day to day assignments including news, sports and features was like any other news room, but with the uniqueness of the Far North. Driving up to the Tablelands, Port Douglas and Babinda - the small farming town which receives Queensland's highest rainfall every year, was special.ImageCovering sports has again been my highlight, especially the Cairns Taipans- NBL team and the Iron Man Triathlon. When covering the Basketball matches I went the extra mile to set up a remote camera behind the board. It wasn't an easy task and was never executed perfectly.

It was sad to say goodbye, "leave the circus" but will remain a great experience and memory as I continue my journey with News Corp Australia to South Queensland.
